UNDP, Gombe train 264 youths, women in trades
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaborations with Gombe state Government has commenced the training of 264 women and youths in the state.
Pro. Iliya Dongs of the Dobast Management Consultants Limited, who disclosed this while speaking during the programme, said the participants will be train in five different trades namely tailoring, fashion design, lumbering, Plaster of Paris (POP) and solar power installations.
He said he was going to coordinate the proper training with 60 teachers who will be training the beneficiaries for 21 days.
Prof. Dongs further said the curriculum has been laid down from the beginning up to the end of the training where participants will master the skills that enable them start their businesses.
He said at the end of the training, the government will give them kits to start their own business and become employers of labour in future.
Also speaking at ceremony the state Commissioner of Economic Planning, Abdullahi Pantami, reiterated government commitment to partner with UNDP.
