The Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO) is set to commence a series of conversations on graduates job expo for the overall benefit of students, its Vice-Chancellor, Prof Lawrence Ezemonye has said.
He stated this during the 12th induction ceremony of newly qualified medical laboratory scientists of Igbinedion University by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) in Okada, Edo state.
He said the conversation aims to expose the students to career and job opportunities available in national and multinational Industries/organizations.
Ezemonye, who charged the students on professionalism, said that medical laboratory science is a critical nexus in health care delivery.
“Today we restate our commitment to a better Nigerian society with a refurbished health sector by the release of 35 newly qualified medical laboratory scientists waiting to be inducted.
“While the Act establishing the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria saddles practitioners with the responsibility of “detection”, “diagnosis”, and “monitoring” with the ultimate aim of treating diseases, the role medical laboratory scientists play in health care delivery undoubtedly makes it a sensitive course of study,” he said.
Earlier, Dr Tosan Erhabor, Registrar, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria(MLSCN) who inducted the qualified medical laboratory scientists advised them on creating national development.
