Ososo Carnival showcases cultural heritage, tourism potentials of Akoko-Edo

All is now set for the 8th edition of the Ososo Carnival, an event held yearly to showcase the rich cultural heritage, tradition and tourism potentials of Ososo community in Akoko-Edo Council of Edo State.

All is now set for the 8th edition of the Ososo Carnival, an event held yearly to showcase the rich cultural heritage, tradition and tourism potentials of Ososo community in Akoko-Edo Council of Edo State.

It is a package of leisure events, which will feature, street dance, parade of costumes, arena based performances, beauty pageant, musical fanfare, cultural display, arts, fashion exhibition, sporting activities and others.

President, Ososo Carnival Initiative, Moses Teo Ajayi, disclosed this at the unveiling of the carnival’s logo in Benin City.

He also said the theme of the carnival is, Celebrating Unity for Community Development.

Ajayi said the carnival, which is a six-day event, seeks to, “contribute to a long value chain that creates jobs, provides livelihoods, empowers local communities and ultimately brings in new opportunities for a better future.”
