Ebere Christopher, founder of the acclaimed fashion brand, Bibi Christophers, is set to unveil her latest collection, Tidal Bloom, at African Fashion Week London.
In a recent media statement, the designer described Tidal Bloom as a celebration of African heritage and nature.
The event, convened by Queen Ronke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi, is scheduled for 22–23 August 2026 in London.
It brings together industry professionals, designers, exhibitors and fashion lovers with the aim of increasing the visibility and sustainability of African and Black fashion brands through catwalk showcases, exhibitions and education.
Tidal Bloom will be among the collections taking centre stage on the runway.
Crafted with Ankara fabric, the collection features sculptural silhouettes, hand beading, and embroidered motifs. The pieces draw from the hidden beauty of aquatic ecosystems, balancing bold colours and patterns with refined craftsmanship.
African Fashion Week London continues to grow as a key platform for African designers to gain international exposure, connecting creative talent with a global audience of industry professionals and fashion lovers.
“This collection is my way of celebrating Africa, the beauty of our textiles, and the skill of our artisans while presenting African fashion in ways that are distinctive and unapologetically African,” Christopher said.
According to the statement, Tidal Bloom has grown from decades of creating and designing for and with Africans, reflecting a deep and long-standing connection to the continent’s rich fashion heritage.
The showcase is expected to be a highlight of the two-day event, offering international visibility to a collection that speaks to both the artistry and cultural depth of African fashion.
She asserts in the statement that the bold colours and patterns of Ankara are balanced with refined craftsmanship, creating elegance in every piece.
African fashion, as Christopher presents it, is not just clothing. It is storytelling, culture, and identity expressed through colour, texture, and skill.
She further explained that African fashion has always been a celebration of colour, craftsmanship and storytelling, and that Tidal Bloom is her fullest expression of that tradition.
Her participation in African Fashion Week London places Bibi Christophers firmly among the brands shaping the future of African fashion on the world stage.
