Voices In The Cause of Earth holds today as PIN hosts Denja Abdullahi, others

It is going to be an evening of ideas, rhymes and reasons around climate change and the environment with Wole Soyinka at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos today as part of activities celebrating World Poetry Day 2021.

Themed Voices In The Cause of Earth, the event will feature Efe Paul Azino, Evelyn Osagie, Akeem Lasisi, Umar Abubakar Sidi, and Reginald Ofodile.

Also participating are Poets In Nigeria (PIN), AJ House of Poetry, Loudthotz and Bariga Poets Collective. Special guest is Odia Ofeimun while Taiwo Ajai-Lycett and Bimbo Manuel will put up special appearance.

Members of PIN are also set to host former president of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Denja Abdullahi, Sonny Kwaku (Ghana) and other poets as part of efforts to mark 2021 poetry day.

According to PIN President, Eriata Oribhabor, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols, this year’s celebration will hold virtual.

Alongside the mentioned are two poets, Salihu Mahe and A.I. Sabo respectively, who recently published their first books of poetry from which they will be reading. Others to be celebrated are Joy Offere of the LOC Festival Poetry Calabar and winners of Pin Punchy Poetry (2018-2020).
