Amaechi wins Rivers ADC Presidential primary in landslide

Rotimi Amaechi

Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has recorded a commanding victory in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary held in Rivers State.

Amaechi reportedly secured 115,650 votes, delivering a wide-margin win over other contenders, including Atiku Abubakar and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who trailed far behind in the delegate count.

The result highlights Amaechi’s strong political influence and grassroots structure in his home state, where he remains a dominant force in party mobilization and delegate support.

The Rivers outcome is expected to add early momentum to his campaign as the ADC presidential primary continues across other states, with national collation still ongoing.

Party officials are yet to officially conclude and announce final nationwide results.
