Diamond Bank’s customer gets reward for western union transfer
Diamond Bank Plc, in collaboration with Western Union have rewarded one of the bank’s customers, Patrick Anyatonwu with a brand new Hyundai Accent salon car.
The customer emerged star prizewinner of the just concluded ‘Western Union Back to School Promo” held at Awolowo road Ikoyi branch of the bank.
According to Anyatonwu, “I have been a long-time customer of Diamond bank and Western Union. When I was initially contacted and informed that I had won a new car, I could not believe it. It did not make sense to me. I thought it was a scam until last Friday when I saw the car at the official presentation ceremony. I am very grateful to Diamond Bank and Western Union for this reward,”
Head, Consumer Channels, Diamond Bank Plc, Chekwube Ohaeri explained that Diamond Bank has been in partnership with Western Union for close to 15 years, adding that the synergy has helped improve their customer base and profitability.
“The customer transacted with us, he did western union transaction and this is the season when western union is rewarding their customers in conjunction with their banks so this is the second phase and what happened is that when customers send money, there is a draw at the end of the promo where two cars are won so we won one of the cars for this season.
“Western union and Diamond bank have been in this partnership for 15 years and it has been a strong one and we ensure that our customers are being rewarded when they do business with us aside this promo.”
She added that the emergence of a Customer of Diamond Bank Awolowo road Ikoyi branch as the winner of the star prize would improve the visibility of the western union brand, and ultimately led to more referrals using the service.
The western union promotion started July this year with customers rewarded with two cars. To qualify for the promo, consumers must send money overseas via Western Union just once irrespective of the amount.
