Firm unveils solar solutions for businesses, homes

Kartel Energy has launched two specialised renewable energy product lines – Ensky Solar and LuxWatts lithium battery series – to address Nigeria’s ongoing power supply challenges.

The announcement was made at Powerelec Nigeria 2026, an international exhibition and conference on solar, renewable energy, storage and power technologies in Lagos.

Kartel’s move comes as Nigeria continues to grapple with unreliable electricity supply, highlighting the growing role of decentralised solar and storage solutions in bridging the country’s power gap.

The company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ola Ogunsemowo, said the products are engineered specifically for Nigeria’s electricity landscape, where supply is often inconsistent or entirely unavailable.

Ogunsemowo said the company’s approach to product design is shaped by Nigeria’s unique grid realities, where power supply is often unavailable or unstable even when connected.

According to him, the absence of reliable electricity remains a fundamental constraint to industrialisation and economic growth, making decentralised renewable solutions increasingly critical for homes, businesses and industries.

“There is no industrialised nation anywhere in the world that does not have access to constant and reliable power. Nigeria is not an exception. If we want to industrialise, access to sustainable and dependable electricity is not optional,” he said.

He explained that Kartel designed its products to withstand Nigeria’s operating conditions, including grid instability, harsh weather and inconsistent power availability, while supporting the country’s gradual transition to cleaner energy sources.

At the exhibition, Kartel Energy introduced Ensky Solar, a new brand positioned primarily for solar street lighting and solar panel solutions, and LuxWatts, a lithium battery brand focused on low-voltage energy storage for households and small commercial users.
