Insurance Brokers, under the auspices of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), have joined voices in the call on the Federal Government to prioritise constant power supply to boost economic growth and development.

Speaking to The Guardian over the weekend, the President of NCRIB, Shola Tinubu, said, there are areas of urgent attention such as power, sustenance of efforts on construction of roads and development of other means of transportation.

He expressed the hope of the brokers that government’s new team would work together to revive the nation’s economy by activating all the latent natural resources that the country is blessed with and enhance her economic vibrancy.

While enjoining them to give utmost priority to security and sustainable supply of public power generation, this, he added, would translate to adequate power supply to Nigerians, considering the fact that power is the linchpin of enduring economic development of the nation.

Speaking on the activities of the council, he said, NCRIB has provided lots of training opportunities for members, which has definitely enhanced participants’ skills in handling insurance and technical related issues.

“We are not going to rest on our oars. Also, realising that the council must continually recognise the roles of both past and present practitioners, who have played significant roles, it is heartwarming to note that the Council held its maiden edition of “Celebrating our Heroes” programme.
