Tributes as insurance stakeholders honour late Staco MD in Lagos

The late Banmore

Tributes poured in over the weekend as Staco Insurance Plc and key stakeholders across the insurance industry gathered in Lagos to honour the late Managing Director of the company, Dr Olawale Omotunde Banmore, celebrating a career widely described as impactful and visionary.

The tribute night, held at the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) Secretariat, drew representatives of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), NCRIB and other industry operators, reflecting the broad influence Dr Banmore wielded during his years in the sector.

Speaking at the event, the Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Staco Insurance Plc, Mrs Nike Nihinlola, described the late executive as a driven leader whose passion for the business and people-oriented approach defined his tenure.

“You had uncommon energy to make things work and were always surrounded by friends and colleagues who believed in your vision,” Nihinlola said. “It is difficult for us to come to terms with your transition to eternity, but our consolation is that you came, you saw and you conquered.”

Industry leaders at the gathering recalled Banmore’s commitment to professionalism, capacity building and ethical standards, noting that his leadership contributed significantly to Staco’s growth and to broader industry development.

The event highlighted not only his achievements as an insurance executive but also the personal bonds he built across the sector, with speakers agreeing that his legacy would continue to resonate within Nigeria’s insurance and financial services community.
