To compete globally, the NEPAD Business Group Nigeria, NBGN, has urged the Federal Government to continuously encourage the activation of private-sector development across Africa and Nigeria in particular.
In a statement, the Chairman of NBGN, Bashorun J. K. Randle, stated this while commending the late BamangaTukur for pioneering private-sector development in Nigeria.
He said: “If truly Africa and Nigeria in particular want to compete in the global economy, like the late proponent of economic integration and private-sector development, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, policy makers should continually see it as a point of responsibility to sustain his rich private-sector development legacy.”
According to Randle, “Tukur’s life was defined by service, vision, and dedication to national advancement. In his capacity as Executive President, Grand Patron, and President Emeritus of the African Business Roundtable, ABR.
He was instrumental in conceptualising the organisation.
“His conviction that the African private sector must play a central role in wealth creation, employment generation, investment promotion, and sustainable development remains as relevant today as it was when NBGN was conceived,” the Chairman stated.
