NCRIB calls for better reputation management

The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) has called on insurance practitioners in the industry to work together to redeem the industry’s poor image.

The new president of the council, Oluwarotimi Edu, in his acceptance speech at the investiture as the 21st president, held in Lagos, said cooperation would enable the sector to maximise the untapped potential in the economy and raise the confidence level.

According to him, the council under his leadership will also focus on financial solvency, strategic government and institutional relations, mentoring, corporate visibility sustenance and secretariat development.

The NCRIB president stressed that the council’s executives would create training opportunities for members within and outside the country and reinforce ties with existing institutions.

“It is no longer news that the hallmark of all professions is the continuous acquisition of knowledge and openness to new and evolving knowledge.

“The insurance brokers cannot be an exception being the main professional in the insurance value chain. Brokers under my tenure would be an encyclopedia of knowledge and professionalism,” he said.

Edu said that his team would also devise strategic plans to reach out to educational institutions across the country and create awards and scholarships to those with interest in insurance broking as a career.
