Nigerian fintech Transvora reports $1.2m in transactions within two months of launch

Femi Abodunrin, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Transvora

Transvora, an emerging financial technology company specialising in cross-border business payments, foreign exchange and international settlement solutions, has recorded US$1.2 million (approximately ₦1.64 billion) in successfully completed transactions within less than two months of launching operations.

The transaction value, calculated at an indicative exchange rate of ₦1,369 to US$1, represents a significant early milestone for the company as it builds payment solutions designed to simplify international transactions for businesses.

Founded in July 2026, Transvora operates through Transvora Ltd in Nigeria and Transvora Inc. in the United States, focusing on efficient cross-border payments, competitive foreign exchange solutions, treasury services and international business settlements.

As Nigerian businesses increasingly participate in international trade, access to reliable foreign exchange and efficient payment infrastructure remains an important operational requirement.

Transvora was established to address these challenges by helping businesses manage international supplier payments, settle commercial obligations and navigate cross-border transactions through supported payment channels.

The company focuses on payment requirements involving major international currencies, including the US dollar (USD), British pound (GBP) and euro (EUR).

Through strategic relationships with financial infrastructure and payment service providers, Transvora is developing solutions designed to improve settlement efficiency, payment accessibility and foreign exchange management.

Within less than two months of commencing operations, Transvora, according to documents made available to The Guardian, successfully processed $1.2 million in transactions through its payment infrastructure.

The milestone reflects the company’s early commercial traction and growing customer demand for international payment solutions.

Commenting on the achievement, Femi Abodunrin, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Transvora, said: “Processing over $1.2 million in completed transactions within our first two months is an important milestone for Transvora.

“We started this company with a vision to simplify how businesses move money internationally, reduce payment friction and create better opportunities for businesses participating in global trade.

“This achievement is encouraging, but we see it as the beginning of a much bigger journey. Our priority remains building reliable infrastructure, strong financial partnerships and payment solutions that businesses can depend on.”

As part of its regulatory compliance framework, Transvora Inc. has completed its registration as a Money Services Business (MSB) with the United States Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

The registration forms part of the company’s approach to establishing appropriate compliance processes for its business activities.

Transvora continues to develop its customer verification, anti-money laundering, transaction monitoring and risk management procedures while working with financial infrastructure partners to support its international payment operations.

FinCEN MSB registration is a federal registration requirement and does not constitute a banking licence, government endorsement or authorisation to operate in every jurisdiction.

Following its early transaction milestone, Transvora is focused on strengthening its international payment capabilities and expanding its network of infrastructure and commercial partners.

The company’s growth strategy includes improving treasury operations, customer onboarding, payment processing, foreign exchange management and settlement coordination.

Transvora also aims to establish referral and commercial relationships with businesses receiving international payments, helping eligible customers access supported payment and foreign exchange solutions.

With more than ₦1.64 billion in completed transaction value recorded within its early operating period, Transvora is positioning itself to participate in the growing market for international business payment solutions.

Speaking on the company’s long-term ambitions, Abodunrin added: “Our goal is not simply to process payments. We want to build a trusted financial technology company that helps businesses expand beyond borders.

“We believe that international opportunities should not be limited by payment complexity. As we grow, we will continue investing in our infrastructure, partnerships, compliance capabilities and customer experience.”
