2025/2026 Post-UTME: Candidates involved in malpractice won’t gain admission, says UNILAG

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) said no fewer than 20,464 candidates participated in its 2025/2026 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) online screening assessment exercise, but warned that those involved in malpractices won’t gain admission.

UNILAG’s Communication Unit disclosed this on Friday in a notice published on the institution’s official website and X account, following the successful online screening assessment for Post-UTME from September 1 to 4, 2025.

However, the institution stated that some candidates engaged in various forms of malpractice, contrary to the guidelines governing the examination.

“In line with the university’s zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice, such candidates will, based on the outcome of our ongoing investigations and reviews, be rendered ineligible for admission,” the statement read.

“Our official communication channels, as earlier indicated in the various instructions to candidates, remain open.

“For the avoidance of doubt, however, the University is in possession of verifiable evidence of infractions.”

UNILAG also reiterated its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the integrity of its admissions process.
