The Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State has matriculated 1,450 students across its five schools.
Addressing newsmen at the institution’s premises, the Rector, Dr. Aminu Yusuf, said the ceremony marked the 38th matriculation of the polytechnic.

He explained that before he assumed office in February 2025, the institution operated only three programmes but has now expanded to 38 programmes.

According to him, within one year in office, the management secured accreditation for 38 programmes at both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels in fields such as Accountancy, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, and others.

The Rector also stated that there is an effective security network within the polytechnic, assuring that students and staff move freely without fear.

“We are working closely with all conventional security agencies in the state, and students and staff, as well as their property, are adequately protected,” he said.

He added that the institution has zero tolerance for cultism, robbery, internet fraud, examination malpractice, and other criminal activities.

Highlighting infrastructural improvements, Dr. Yusuf noted that the management has completed about 2.5 kilometres of perimeter fencing and upgraded the institution’s ICT facilities. He also disclosed that most of the hostels have been renovated by the state government.
