MAAUN founder welcomes Prof. Magaji’s appointment as FUSTK vice-chancellor

The founder of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has congratulated Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Magaji on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Science and Technology, Kabo.

Prof. Magaji’s appointment was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, according to an official announcement.

In a statement issued on Friday, Gwarzo described the appointment as merited, citing the professor’s academic background and experience in higher education administration.

He noted that Prof. Magaji previously served as the pioneer Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Kabo, before its elevation to university status by the Federal Government. He also referenced the professor’s tenure as Acting President of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, where he was involved in institutional development.

According to Gwarzo, the new Vice-Chancellor brings experience in academic administration, research development and institutional management.

“On behalf of the MAAUN Group of Universities, I congratulate Prof. Magaji on this national assignment,” the statement read. “His background in university leadership and policy implementation will be beneficial to the institution.”

The MAAUN founder expressed optimism that Prof. Magaji’s tenure would strengthen teaching standards, research output and innovation at the university.

The Federal University of Science and Technology, Kabo, located in Kano State, was recently established following the upgrade of the former Federal Polytechnic, Kabo. Its mandate focuses on science, technology and applied research.
