“The Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSGI, has approved the appointment of Mrs Theresa Okwu as the Executive Secretary of the Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB), with immediate effect,” the statement read.

It added: “Accordingly, the former Executive Secretary, Mrs Agustina Azubuike, is to hand over to Mrs Theresa Okwu before the close of work on Thursday, February 26, 2026.”

Meanwhile, Prof. Ikegwuoha has recently raised concerns over alleged cases of inadequacies and the imposition of illegal fees on pupils and students in primary and secondary schools across the state. He also cited reported threats from unknown persons, noting that the ministry has taken prompt steps to halt such illegal practices whenever they are brought to its attention.
