LASUCOM emerges best in Africa, wins medical students competition
Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), recently, beat 33 other medical students associations from 10 African countries to win the maiden African Inter-Medical Students’ Association (MSA) quiz competition.
LASUCOM, which was represented by four students: Joshua Oyelowo, Ibrahim Kamson, Osunsanmi Olugbemi and Sangosanya Oluwagbotemi, won a cash prize of $150 for emerging winners, while each of the outstanding students got automatic one year premium access to Lecturio.
The competition, organised by Famsa Scomer, in partnership with Lecturio, covered Clinical, Pre-Clinical, Mathematics, Logics and General Knowledge.
President of LASU Medical Students’ Association (LASUMSA), Moshood Habeeb, led a delegation, comprising executives of the body and winners of the MSA competition to the vice chancellor, Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, to present their award to the university’s chief executive and intimate her of other proposed activities of the body.
Habeeb informed the VC and the university management that LASUMSA would also be playing host to the Nigeria Medical Students’ Association (NIMSA) General Assembly scheduled to hold later this year. Olatunji-Bello expressed delight with the students and congratulated them on winning the competition.
