153 graduate at Admiralty varsity’s maiden convocation

Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) has graduated 153 students at its maiden convocation held at the institution in Ibuza, near Asaba, Oshimili North Council of Delta State.

Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) has graduated 153 students at its maiden convocation held at the institution in Ibuza, near Asaba, Oshimili North Council of Delta State.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Paul Omojo Omaji, said of the total number of the graduating students, 24 made first class, 76 made Second Class (Upper Division), 52 had Second Class (Lower Division), while a student made Third Class.

Omaji said the five- year old institution trained its students to solve problems on their own and be luminary leaders that would promote the growth of the society.

He said Ape Terhemba Moses of Cyber Security Department, who got five awards, emerged the best graduating student for the 2021/2022 academic session.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Patrick Ukah, assured that his administration would continue to give the needed support to the institution.

The guest lecturer, Mr. Tony Elumelu, who spoke on leadership, identified passion and hardwork as key to success in businesses.

Former Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral C. O. Ekeoba (rtd), who was honoured for his contribution towards the development of the university, lauded Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, for his role in the establishment of the university.

Other highlights of the event were projects commissioning, tree planting, recognition of those that contributed to the successes of the school and conferment of honorary degrees on some notable Nigerians.
