Bauchi hosts seminar on crisis communication
The Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC) has perfected arrangement to host the zonal phase of the Seminar on Media Engagement in Crisis Situation for Public Relations and Information Officers for the Military, Security and Response Agencies in Nigeria.
The two-day seminar opens tomorrow in the North East (Bauchi). The Minister of Defence, Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali declared open the Abuja leg of the seminar series last April. It drew participants from headquarters of the military, security and response agencies.
Following the success recorded in the April seminar, the Centre with the support of Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP) is replicating the programme in the North East and the Niger Delta regions of the country where crisis information management is more challenging.
The essence of moving the seminar around, according to CCC Head, Research, Planning & Statistics, Chidi Omeje, is to build the capacity of information officers of these agencies who are operating in the zones.
