200 early childhood educators empowered for transformative impact

No fewer than 200 early childhood educators have been trained in capacity building and transformative experiences in educational leadership and professional growth.

The Teachers’ Leadership Conference 2025: Empowering Educators as Leaders, themed “Teachers Are Leaders”, was organised by Wholistic Edu-Consult, in partnership with the Early Childhood Association of Nigeria (ECAN) and the Faculty of Education, Lagos State University (LASU).

The event, whichwas held at the Executive Wing, 3-in-1 Hall, Faculty of Education, LASU, brought together over 200 early childhood educators from across the federation.

The conference featured renowned speakers, including a John Maxwell Leadership Certified Coach, Lolade Akande, who spoke on “Leading Beyond the Classroom,” a Professor of Education at LASU, Adewale Noah, who addressed “Early Childhood Educators as Change Agents.”

and an Associate Professor from the University of Ilorin, Dr. Eniola Ola-Alani, who delivered “Equipping Teachers for 21st Century Leadership.”

An engaging panel session added depth to the programme, featuring thought leaders such as Dr Adekunle Ibrahim Oladejo, an educational researcher; Akinyemi Olajumoke Anike, a retired Director of Education; Dr Ireti Adebowale, Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Education, LASU; and Coach Fowowe S. S., President and Co-founder of ANPEIN.

The panellists provided insightful responses to participants’ questions, enriching the discourse on leadership in education.In her address, the convener, Olubunmi Mercy Odiaka, urged participants to maximise the learning opportunities the conference presented.

Her words: “What you do not have, you cannot give, and whatever you learn and do not use, you will lose.”
She encouraged all educators to implement the knowledge gained to become the Teacher-Leaders they are meant to be.
