Endowment fund will support students, research development, says rector

YABATECH
The Rector, Yaba College of Technology, Mr Obafemi Omokungbe, has said that the N50b College Endowment Fund is aimed at providing support for students and boosting research programmes.

Speaking at the unveiling of the endowment fund logo, Omokungbe said its inauguration programme would hold on September 15, 2022, at Eko Hotels and Suites, under the chairmanship of the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.

He said the endowment fund project was conceived out of his administration’s desire to address the challenges of the infrastructural deficit as well as obsolete and non-functional equipment confronting the college.

“The unveiling of the logo is the first phase of the launching of the endowment fund. We want the world to know what we are doing through this platform,” he said.

Omokungbe called on well-meaning Nigerians to support the project and partner with the college, by investing in the endowment fund.

Chief Executive Officer of SIFAX Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, commended the school for making efforts to rebirth the 75-year-old institution through the launch of an endowment fund.

Represented by Group Executive Director, Mr Bode Ojeniyi, the SIFAX boss urged everyone to come on board the development train of the college.
