The ceremony, which took place at the central mosque, also witnessed presentation of awards to some prominent personalities who have contributed immensely to the growth of Islam in the area.
At the ceremony, the guest lecturer, Muhammad Saheed admonished the awardees to be deeply committed in the practice of Islam as they have the responsibility to make a positive impact on the society.
He emphasised the importance of the role their new titles impose on them, charging them to demonstrate the fear of God at all times.
He said: “The role bestowed on you all is for you to propagate the teaching of the Quran by living according to the practice of our Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It is also for you to serve as a good ambassador of Islam.”
In her remarks, the newly turbaned Asiwaju Obinrin Adini of Idosa Central Mosque commended the religious group for finding her worthy of the title. “This is a duty from my God as I must deliver on it. I will support the mosque by making my impact count. In my capacity, I will ensure the growth of Islam and welfare of Muslims particularly in this locality,” Alhaja Adekoya pledged.
