Muslims in Nigeria have mourned the demise of the Director of Administration of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Yusuf Nwoha who died in a ghastly motor accident in Okene on his way to Owerri to observe the Eid.

The Chief Executive Officer, Jaiz Charity and Development Foundation Abuja, Dr Abdullahi Shuaib said the exit of the late Nwoha is indeed a great lost to his family, the Igbo land Muslim Community, Imolites, NSCIA, the Nigeria Muslim Ummah and the country in general.

He described Nwoha as a grassroots Igbo Muslim leader who had the interest of his people both Muslims and non-Muslims at heart.

The Amir (President), Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Saheed Ashafa condoled the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, over the death of Nwoha, who contributed enormously to the development of Islam and will be remembered for his hard work.

He said: “We are pained by his death and tragic loss but Allah knows best. We pray that Allah forgive Alhaji Yusuf and grant him Al-Janat firdaus.

“We also pray to Allah to grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss. He will be missed for his positive contribution to the development of Islam,” the statement added.

Late Nwoha also had a successful civil service career where he retired as Deputy Director at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) despite the rough terrain he passed through.
