The Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria has called on Islamic organisations to focus on improving the quality of service delivery to achieve significant improvement.

Speaking during the Society, Ramadan Tafseer Century Celebration, the National Missioner of the Society, Imam Abdurahman Ahmad, emphasised the need to compartmentalise operations and encourage digitalisation to appeal to the generality of Muslims worldwide.

“Islamic organisations must embrace change in order to meet the challenges of the 21st century,” he said. Senator-elect for Lagos West, Dr. Idiat Adebule, commended the Society for its continious contributions to the development of education in the country. She assured the people of Lagos State and Nigeria of her contributions to legislative issues in the Senate.

The wife of Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu urged the Society to continue to invest in educational development and be ready to embrace change in all ramifications. She commended the Society for continuing to admonish the citizenry in the teaching of Islamic principles and tenets.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Home Affairs and Tourism, Prince Anofiu Eleguishi, urged Muslims to take advantage of the holy month and let the teaching and blessings of Ramadan reflect in their conduct and relationship with all creation of Allah.

He advised Muslims to take maximum opportunity of this holy month to supplicate to Allah for his guidance at all levels particularly at the Federal level for our leaders to be just and fair in execution of their duties. He stressed that his administration has shown great commitment to the vision of greater Lagos and will continue to do his best to ensure the greater Lagos he desire continues to rise.

He thanked Lagosian for believing in him by giving him the opportunity to serve another four years. He assured residents of prompt delivery of all projects as his administration planned to commence another term.

In his welcome address, the Chairman Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Branch, Alhaji Kamorudeen Salami stressed the contributions of the branch to the propagation of Islam and education in the country.

He noted that in a few months, the Society will attain its first centenary, which has been dedicated to the emancipation of Muslims from the shackles of ignorance through Western education and positive impartation of Islamic culture on the Muslim Ummah.

He noted that Society stands on the threshold of another century and he appreciates all those that have contributed immeasurably to the progress of the society and the actualisation of its ideals. Salami appealed to the government at all levels to listen to the yearning of the citizens in the discharge of their responsibilities.
