Where others fly, Eagles soar effortlessly. In a tournament that features the best of the best countries in African football, the Super Eagles of Nigeria once again reminded everyone of who they truly are in a prolific display of skills, strikes, and camaraderie.

The pulsating yet thrilling encounter which was held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, has taken the intensity of the ongoing 2022 African Cup of Nations tournament a notch higher as the Super Eagles of Nigeria tops Group D after defeating the Pharaohs of Egypt 1-0.

The 90-minute encounter at the Estadio Roumde Adja in Garoua, the Northern city of Cameroon had key highlights from both sides. Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho cut the tie in the 30th minute after a distant volley. The Pharaohs of Egypt tightened their defense lines and tried to force in some counter-attacks but the Super Eagles remained dominant on the attacking and defense lines.

With this result, the Eagles have risen to become the leaders of Group D as they top Egypt, Guinea Bissau, and Sudan. The next match will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, where the Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Sudan.
