ELDERLY COUPLE…Looking a healthy

In continuation of our discuss of the seven steps to living a healthy life, we shall be looking at the subject I have referred to as chemical warfare. Also known as the battle of the ions, it involves those things that we eat and drink which we should avoid. Such things have been “packaged” in such a way that the human being has fallen for the lies of the devil. This is an age-long and ongoing warfare, the knowledge of which will frighten everybody. It is said that we are up against the devil in a spiritual warfare but unknown to us our enemy has to a large extent been the victor of this chemical warfare. It is my hope and belief that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to see the plan of the devil to destroy mankind.

“And GOD said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed: to you it shall be for meat.” (Genesis 1: 29).

This is the provision that GOD made for man from the time of creation. With this in mind one can scarcely wonder how come people like Methuselah lived for such a long time: “And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years; and he died.” He was the oldest man that ever lived and in his time people living to be nine hundred years and more were not a rarity. I want to believe that in those days people kept strictly to the diet of Genesis 1: 29 as prescribed by the almighty Creator of all things. Life expectancy in those days was nine hundred and twelve years and there were no reported cases of sickness and diseases. Also they all had children because none was barren. Sickness, diseases and barrenness set in only after the flood. The flood had destroyed all the vegetation that GOD had given to man and for their survival GOD permitted them to eat some meat. “Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.” [Genesis 9: 3].

From this time that animal protein was introduced into the diet of man and for the next ten generations life expectancy dropped to 110 years. Cases of sicknesses, diseases and barrenness began to surface. I am not sure if the people that lived after the flood were expected to stop eating meat after the greens started growing again but one thing is likely – they started cooking and refining the food that GOD had given them. This practice has continued till this very day and these diseases have continued to afflict man with no solution in sight. In some societies such diseases are referred to as diseases of old age and have been accepted as the norm. This is a lie of the devil; to be old is not a curse and people do not have to be ill or incapacitated by one disease or the other before they die.

People are dying long and living short. Human beings, Christians included have played into the hands of devil by what they eat, drink and breathe in. GOD had advised Christians not to be like them but we have not included our food and drinks as part of the warning. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed with the renewing of your mind ——-” [Romans 12: 2a].I believe that this scripture captures all aspects of human life including food and water. Even the Christians, maybe with very few exceptions have remained in the world when it comes to what we eat and drink.

What is the food of the world?
If GOD wanted man to do to the vegetables and seeds what we now do to them, He would have said so. We have so refined and processed the things that we eat and these same things are the causes of disease in us. People like Methuselah in his days ate wheat, unpolished rice, vegetables, fruits and so on, the way they were harvested – fresh and raw. What do we have today? Our wheat is refined to the extent that the flour from it is all white.

The flour is just starch having been rid of all the vitamins, minerals and fiber in wheat. White rice is preferable in the modern homes, by the educated and civilized woman of today. Polished rice has become the in-thing; it is bereft of the vitamins, minerals and fiber that GOD in all His wisdom had put in it for man. Our table salt today has been described by some scientists as dangerous. It contains only sodium and chloride ions. This is what the refiners and businessmen have done to the natural sea salt that contains eighty minerals, all important and essential to the body.
