Bolanle Austen-Peters, Ibim Semenitari and others will be speakers at the seventh edition of ‘Innovention’ Series organised by Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications Group. The event, which has as theme ‘Building Africa’s Fortune through Mediatainment,’ is scheduled to take place at Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, on March 22, 2018.

The Innovention Series was instituted as a platform to examine the question of Africa’s development or lack of it, hone in on opportunities for growth while focusing on leveraging inherent strengths. It attracts patrons from both the public and private sectors and has become a strong voice in stimulating pragmatic conversations that challenge the status quo.

While speaking on the forthcoming edition, Convener of Innovention Series and Executive Vice Chairman of Verdant Zeal Group, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi, noted that the narrative about Africa has been changing because of the evolution experienced in the creative industry, which is engendered by technology.

According to him, “It is imperative to have a great understanding of how to create content and distribute it to consumers across the globe. This edition of the series will chart a course towards harnessing the power of African content to create new narratives and revenue streams.”

Distinguished speakers at the forum will include Bolanle Austen-Peters, the founder of Terra Kulture, who CNN describes as the ‘woman powering the Nigerian theatre,’ Ibim Semenitari, the first Nigerian female journalist to win CNN African Journalist of the Year award, Dr. Ibilola Amao, Principal Consultant at Lonadek, Ade Adefeko, Vice President Corporate and Government Relations, OLAM Nigeria, Yahaya Maikori, Founding Partner, Law Allianz among others.
