Pitcher Awards get jury

Organisers of Pitcher Awards and Cannes Lions Official Festival representative in Nigeria, CHINI Productions, has announced Managing Director/CCO, Noah’s Ark, Lanre Adisa, as the Jury President for the Heritage category of the Pitcher Awards.

Organisers of Pitcher Awards and Cannes Lions Official Festival representative in Nigeria, CHINI Productions, has announced Managing Director/CCO, Noah’s Ark, Lanre Adisa, as the Jury President for the Heritage category of the Pitcher Awards. Adisa and his team will judge entries in Film, Audio, Print, Branded Content, Design and Outdoor, including installations and activations.

The Pitcher Awards is part of the Creativity Week, CHINI Productions’ pre-Cannes Lions Festival programme, which will take place at MUSON Centre, Lagos, March 19 through 24, 2018. Other events to hold as part of the Creativity Week are Young Lions Competitions, Miami Ad School Scholarship Competition, Young Professionals Academy, Future Creative Leaders Academy, Creativity Week Expo, Creativity Week Seminars and the closing Pitcher Awards Night and gala on March 24 2018.

According to Managing Director of CHINI Productions, Nnamdi Ndu, “Lanre has been a partner in championing the growth of creativity in Nigeria. As a 3-time creative jury president of the Young Lions Competition in Nigeria, we have experienced the energy, passion and expertise that he brings to the jury room and trust that he will bring the same level of excellence and diligence in judging the Pitcher Awards.”

Adisa started his career in 1990 as a Trainee Copywriter at MC&A: Saatchi & Saatchi, Lagos, Nigeria. He has worked in different capacities as a creative in some of Nigeria’s top agencies. He was at Insight/Grey, Nigeria’s biggest agency. He left TBWA\Concept as an Executive Creative Director in 2008 to found Noah’s Ark.

In a career spanning over 25 years, he has created outstanding work for some of the most notable brands in Nigeria such as Indomie Noodles, MTN, Peak Milk, Three Crowns, Virgin Atlantic, Airtel and GOtv among others. The Pitcher Awards celebrate the best of the best ideas in tech and marketing communications from West and Central Africa. Entries are currently open at www.creativityweek.events.

Similarly, the organisers have also announced the MD/CEO, CMC Connect, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, as the Jury President for the Channel category of the Awards. Badejo-Okusanya and members of his team in the Channel Jury will judge entries for Use of Media, Use of Data, Use of Insights and Strategy, PR and Reputation Management as well as Integrated Campaigns.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from University of Benin, Benin City, and began his career in marketing communications in 1988 with CT & A, a Lagos-based advertising agency and then became a director in 1991. YBO, as he is often called, has a strong passion for the practice of public relations in Africa. Over the years, he has proven to be a giant in the Public Relations industry with over two decades of work experience in Integrated Marketing Communications, coupled with his pioneering of the perception management business in the Nigerian communication market.

Badejo-Okusanya established his company in 1992, as Nigeria’s premier perception management consulting firm. It provides solution to clients and ancillary marketing communication challenges. Badejo-Okusanya is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and was a former Chairman of NIPR, Lagos State Chapter.
