Rite Foods gets ISO 9001-2015 certificate to boost quality, service delivery

For putting in place a quality management system and demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction, as well as adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements in the country, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has presented Rite Foods Limited with ISO 9001:2015 certificate.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the company’s factory in Ososa, Ogun State recently, Director General, SON, Osita Aboloma, said the certification was in conformity with the requirement of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System standard.Noting that quality food is important for sustenance, he said the milestone achievement is worthy of emulation by all in the food and beverage industry in the country.

The Director General, who was represented by the director of Laboratory Services, SON, Mojisola Kehinde, observed that the production of quality food is of great interest to the nation since it promotes public health especially in the face of the prevailing health challenges in the country.

The DG stated: “ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System approach provides robust, globally recognised and acceptable solutions to address the challenges associated with consistently meeting requirements and addressing future needs and expectation of customers in an increasingly dynamic food and beverage production environment.”He challenged the company to ensure that the system remains effective and up to date so as to reap the benefits of ISO approach to quality management.

While receiving the certificate, Managing Director of the company, Seleem Adegunwa, said the journey the company embarked upon was not an easy one, as it required persistent hardwork to achieve remarkable results.He stressed that the process of being Certificated was not just for the sole purpose of getting issuance, but is a result of the culture the company has chosen to imbibe in its everyday operation, an inherited culture from its parent company, Ess-Ay Holdings led by Dr. Adebola Adegunwa, a visionary chairman, which has helped pave the path towards achieving excellence.

“We believe at Rite Foods that ordinary people are capable of achieving extraordinary things; ISO Quality Management Standards has enabled us to plan for future growth and aim at satisfying customer expectations,” he said.Adegunwa further explained that to assure stakeholders of the company’s commitment to quality during food and beverage production and packaging, Rite Foods decided to embark on this journey of excellence.
