The Executive Director of the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ), Motunrayo Alaka, is expected to discuss responsible broadcasting in an election year at the third yearly conference of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB).

Themed, ‘Responsible broadcasting in an election year: Countering misinformation, promoting peace and strengthening democracy,’ the event is scheduled to hold in Bauchi State.

There would be engaging panel discussions, networking, induction of new members, dinner night and special project tour with the Chief Host Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed.

The special guest of honour is the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.

SNB is a platform and source of inspiration for both serving and retired broadcasters. The body also serves as a think-tank on matters relating to broadcasting and other related issues. In addition, it will maintain close liaison with similar societies or associations across the globe.

The event holds between September 28 to 30 2026 at the International Conference Centre Bauchi State.
