The new president of Rotary Club of Festac Town, Rotarian Henry Enyinna Okechukwu, has promised to move the club forward with the support of the members.

Speaking during the handing over of the leadership baton to him by the immediate past president of the club, Rotarian Demola Martins, he said: “We have come a long way and we have the track record as known in the club to be of good performance. With the Rotary theme for the year, which is ‘Unite for Good’, we are going to unite everything in us – the resilience, the power, the love, the personalities  – for the good of this noble club. There is no going back. We are ready to move this club forward.”

He promised to address the identified challenges facing the club, stressing:  “My promise to every member of this club is that whatever obstacles we have experienced, just as read out by my immediate past president, we are going to turn those weaknesses into strength and move ahead for the betterment of the club.”

Okechukwu disclosed that he had looked forward to leading the club, hence his preparedness to take it to the next level.

He added: “If as a Rotarian, you are not having the mind of standing here as the president, it means you don’t have the spirit of Rotary in you.”
