Raquel Daniel: Social entrepreneur and author launches 6 new books
As part of activities to usher in and celebrate World Book Day 2021, celebrated globally on April 23rd, award-winning social entrepreneur and author, Mrs. Raquel Kasham Daniel is set to launch 6 children’s books.
The event is scheduled to be held on the 23rd of April in Abuja, Nigeria. The book launch will feature a book reading and discussion, followed by a book signing.
There will also be musical interludes; networking among parents, school owners, and corporate bodies. Mrs. Daniel has launched three books last year and has been consistent in churning out titles that help to improve the quality of children and teens’ literature in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Her first book – FLOW, a girl’s guide to menstruation has over 5,000 copies in print and is currently distributed in Nigeria and Ghana. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, she wrote her second book – There Is A New Virus in Town, a coronavirus awareness book for children which has now been printed and distributed to over 7,000 children across Nigeria and translated into the Hausa Language.
To celebrate the 2021 International Women’s Day, Mrs. Daniel launched her third book- Squeaky Clean, a personal hygiene book for teenage girls and currently has 2,000 in print. She is recognized for her works in the social sector in Nigeria and her fight against Period Poverty.
According to her, “in the last one year, I have worked tirelessly to ensure we educate children in remote communities about COVID-19 and I am excited to see these new books reach the hands of many more children” an elated Mrs. Daniel said.
She believes that the release of this new set of books will contribute immensely to the overall educational growth of young children.
