The Criterion holds seminar, decries high rate of divorce


The Criterion (An association of Muslim women in business and professions) has commenced plans to hold her yearly seminar to caution the youth and couples to reduce the rate of divorce in the country.

The seminar, slated for 10th February 2019 at the MRC Hall of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), at 10 a.m. prompt, is targeted at men and women of marriageable age.

The Lagos District Amirah (President) The Criterion, Alhaja Dhikrat Abiodun Oshodi, said that erudite scholars have been invited to the seminar to dwell on theme ‘Beyond The Feel of Love’.


According to her, topics to be discussed at the seminar include: ‘Spousal Abuse’ and ‘The Ripple Effect of Domestic Violence on Training a Child in a Multi facet Society’.

The Managing Director of Pinnacle Medical Services, Dr. Maymunah Yusuf Kadiri, will deliver lecture on ‘Spousal Abuse’, while Director, Office of Public Defender, Lagos State Ministry of Justice Mrs Mariam Olayinka Adeyemi will deliver a paper on ‘The Ripple effect of Domestic Violence on a Child in a Multi facet Society’.

The event will be chaired by, the Managing Director of Simplex Automation Services Limited, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salis and the Special Guest is the CMD Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba Lagos, Dr Oluwayemisi Ogun.
