TruCSR calls for enteries for 2019 SERAS CSR awards

Ken Egbas

Sustainability Enterprise and Responsibility Awards (SERAS) has called on companies who have social projects to enter for the Community Social Responsibility (CSR) Africa Awards 2019.

This was disclosed at a workshop attended by participants to review the quality of service of previous events.

Speaking at the event, Chairman, TruCSR, Ken Egbas, said the awards aim to create an avenue that promotes inclusive and sustainable model of growth in the society to bridge the gap between aspiration and action.

According to him, for the past 11 years, all organisations within TruCSR purview have cumulatively invested above 50 billion Naira on CSR projects with the highest investment from oil and gas sector, followed by telecommunications, which, however, dropped in the past two years.

Egbas said the event would partner with Forbes and Global 100, noting that the international affiliation would add value to the work done by these companies, which is a great way to market and position brands and portray the country in a positive light.

“The top10 on our list of 50 top CSR organisations would be included to the list of global 100,” he disclosed.

Judgment would be based on the objective and scope of the project, sustainability quotient, sustainability policy, innovation, implementation, impact, documentation and communication.

The event, which would take place on the 2nd of November at Oriental hotel, is themed: Driving sustainability through inclusive growth: Partnership as key to unlocking opportunities.

Entries should be submitted on four broad categories namely, sustainable development goals, best practices, PR and media relations and leadership and governance. Participants are advised to log on to and fill the form.
