Depletion of household incomes has impoverished millions of indigent Nigerians, hence, the government should ensure supplies of food and improved standards of living for Nigerians.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Titan Farms, Mr Gbenga Eyiolawi, stressed these during the launch of Titan Farms City, an affiliate of Titan Farms in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

“This is one of the reasons we launched Titan Farm Estate because prices of food items are very high. Don’t be surprised, if, tomorrow, prices come down and the following day, they go high.

“The instability is seriously affecting a lot of families outside there based on the projections they made and on how much they want to spend at the end of the month on the food bill,” he said.

The farm city is a combination of real estate and agriculture, Eyiolawi said. “That is where we will cultivate instead of just processing. At present, we only process.

“Of course, we want to ensure all-year-round supply so that all our products are processed. We have to start cultivating.”

Speaking on how to address the rising cost of food items, the Titan Farms boss said: “For us, we cannot give an immediate solution to the challenge, but we can do a projection of what will be a solution in the nearest future.

“We are working and collaborating with existing farmers. At the moment, we have 52 farms signed under us with the agreement that everything they harvest in their farms, we will process it to achieve our plan,” he said.
