The sixth edition of the Women In Marketing and Communications Conference/Awards (WIMCA) 2022 will hold from October 7 to 8, 2022.

The sixth edition of the Women In Marketing and Communications Conference/Awards (WIMCA) 2022 will hold from October 7 to 8, 2022.

With the theme, ‘Breaking More Biases for A Sustainable Future’, the event is expected to reinforce the actualisation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 on Gender Equality and in line with this year’s International Women’s Day campaign theme: #BreakTheBias.

The convener of WIMCA and Publisher of Brand Communicator, Joshua Ajayi, noted that the event has been repackaged to include an exhibition, masterclass and other initiatives that make WIMCA more robust, engaging, educating, exciting and memorable for participants.

According to Ajayi, “this year, we are taking WIMCA to a new level, celebrating women and charting a new course for women to break more biases for a sustainable future. For the first time, we are making it a two-day event with an exhibition that covers the two days, a masterclass segment that holds the next morning, and a special awards ceremony that holds the second day. There will also be recognition of the top 50 women marketers in Nigeria. I can visualise one of the most glamorous and prestigious recognition projects ever hosted for women in Sub-Saharan Africa. The two-day event is what no one in marketing and brand management would want to miss at all. It is always a viable platform for networking and gaining brand visibility for women and men who come to support them.”

He said the first day will feature sessions on Career Development, Personal Branding, Women and Personal Finance, and Marketing CEOs Success Stories, while the second day is expected to focus on a masterclass, and awards and gala night.

The Managing Director of Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Oyeyimika Adeboye will deliver the keynote paper. Oyeyimika will be speaking on the theme: “Breaking More Biases for A Sustainable Future” alongside other eminent marketing and communication professionals, and leading entrepreneurs and socio-entrepreneurs.

Other speakers are Steve Babaeko, President of AAAN and CEO, X3M Ideas; Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content & West Africa Channels, MultiChoice Group; Solape Akinpelu, CEO, HerVest and Country Director, Women in Tech Global Nigeria Chapter; Anurika Azubike, Managing Partner at Marketplace Innovation Africa; Bidemi Zakariyau Akande, Founder/ CEO of LSF PR; Charles O’Tudor, Principal Consultant of ADSTRAT Branding Management Consortium Limited; Jumoke Odunlami, Chief Customer & Marketing Officer, AXA Mansard and Uche Ajene Ayere, Founder/Managing Director, Stephanie John & Associates among others.

Ajayi added that stakeholders in the brands and marketing industry such as, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and members of various industry bodies like Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN), Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), Advertisers’ Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN) and others from diverse fields are expected to grace the event.
