NEWS Engineering and SCON Foundation host ‘Walk for Impact’ to honour Sir Cyprian Ojimadu Nwaeze’s legacy

In a meaningful tribute to the life and legacy of Sir Cyprian Ojimadu Nwaeze, NEWS Engineering Nigeria Limited and the SCON Foundation hosted the ‘Walk for Impact’ on October 26. The event marked the 18th anniversary of Sir Cyprian’s passing, celebrating his enduring commitment to community empowerment, education, and leadership.

The event, intended as more than a memorial, was a powerful reflection of Sir Cyprian’s dedication to social progress. Participants walked together carrying banners with messages promoting the importance of education and empowerment for societal change. “We are deeply honored to walk in memory of Sir Cyprian Ojimadu Nwaeze and to carry on his legacy of impact,” said Lady Josephine Nwaeze, MD of NEWS Engineering. “Through this event, we not only remember his contributions but also take meaningful steps to support education and skill development for those in need.”

The Walk for Impact began at 8:00 a.m. at Ojimadu Nwaeze House and concluded at 10:00 a.m. at Mother Theresa Orphanage, where NEWS Engineering and SCON Foundation made a charitable donation of food and educational materials, contributing directly to the well-being and support of children at the orphanage. “We hope this act of kindness inspires others to join us in uplifting communities,” said Lady Josephine. “Education is the backbone of empowerment, and we want every child to feel supported in their journey.”

The SCON Foundation, founded in honor of Sir Cyprian, remains dedicated to empowering underserved communities through skill acquisition and education. With a focus on self-reliance and personal growth, the foundation provides young people and marginalized groups with tools for success.
