The bustling city of Lagos was taken on a lavish journey into the world of luxury fashion as it hosted the much-anticipated ‘Polo Avenue X Banke Kuku – EDEN’ fashion show. The event saw renowned designer, Banke Kuku, unveil her SS24 collection.

The high net-worth event began with a speech from Eku Edewor who not only welcomed guests but also gave insight into the inspiration behind the collection.

Edewor said the ‘EDEN’ collection drew inspiration from the beauty and vibrancy of nature. In her words: “Every piece within the collection told a unique story, each infused with the spirit of a lush garden in full bloom. Thereafter, models began to walk the runway, showcasing the stunning new collection.”

The collection was full of vibrant colours of pink, blue, red and green with bold prints. Kuku used a variety of fabrics, including silk, cotton, and linen. The pieces were both elegant and stylish, true to the brand’s signature.

A highlight of the evening was the use of the signature Kuku print, masterfully combined with the finest silk. The result was a harmonious fusion of sophistication and elegance that left guests in awe.

The event arrangement was reminiscent of a garden with beautiful flower decorations. In fact, guests were greeted by a lush green entrance and led to a seating area surrounded by flowers. The runway was also decorated with flowers and plants, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

Her designs are highly celebrated for their fusion of traditional African art and contemporary fashion, she said, “I design the textiles first, and then the outfits, but I am always inspired by Nigerian stories.”
