Bruce Willis received heartfelt tributes from his wife Emma Heming Willis and ex-wife Demi Moore on Father’s Day, which marked the first since his dementia diagnosis.

In March 2022, the renowned action star’s family announced his retirement from the profession due to his battle with aphasia. Subsequently, they revealed that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia earlier this year.

Acknowledging the painful reality, Moore shared, “While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” in a statement at the time.

To honor Willis on Father’s Day (June 18), his family shared new tributes. Heming captioned an Instagram post featuring a picture of Willis with their 11-year-old daughter, Mabel, saying, “Father’s Day is a time I get to reflect on my deep appreciation and respect I have for Bruce as I watch him father our little ones.” She continued, “Where it might not be ‘conventional,’ what he’s teaching them will span generations. 

Unconditional love, kindness, strength, compassion, patience, generosity, resilience. Happy Father’s Day to the greatest dad I know, who will forever be the gift that keeps giving within our family.”

Willis married Heming in 2009, and they also have a nine-year-old daughter named Evelyn Penn Willis.

Demi Moore, who was married to Willis for 13 years before their split in 2000, shared her own tribute. Moore posted an Instagram picture of Willis with their three daughters as young children, Rumer (34), Scout (31), and Tallulah (29), expressing her gratitude towards him for giving her these beautiful girls. She added, “We love our #girldad. Happy Father’s Day!”

This Father’s Day also marked Willis’s first as a grandfather, as his daughter Rumer shared a photo of him with his baby granddaughter, Louetta Isley.

Frontotemporal dementia, according to the NHS, is an uncommon type of dementia that affects behavior and language. It is characterized by gradual changes and damage in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

Recently, Heming requested that the paparazzi refrain from shouting at her husband following his diagnosis.

In March, Heming shared a message on the actor’s 68th birthday, acknowledging the challenges of living with someone with dementia. She expressed her daily sadness and grief, particularly on his birthday.

Moore also posted a touching clip on Instagram, showing Willis and his family celebrating his birthday.

Earlier this month, Willis’s daughter Tallulah wrote an emotional letter recounting the initial signs of her father’s declining health.
