Nollywood veteran, Muyiwa Ademola, has expressed joy as his movie Ori Rebirth raked in ₦419.5 million at the Nigerian box office, making it the eighth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time.
The actor, popularly known as “Mr Authentic,” took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate the milestone and appreciate his fans for their overwhelming support.
“THANK YOU :flag-ng:. It’s has been an amazing journey. You have shown me immense love and support. You gave me so much energy with how you trooped out to watch ORI REBIRTH, you made a statement and here is the result! Thank You is simply an understatement,” he wrote.
He also gave a shoutout to the cast, crew, and FilmOne Entertainment, the film’s distributor, adding, “Congratulations once again to the entire cast & crew of ORI REBIRTH. A very special one to the powerhouse; @filmoneng. Thank YOU ALL and GOD bless you beyond words.”
As seen in the poster shared online, the film has also set a new record as the highest-grossing Nollywood film released outside the December festive season.
Produced under Ademola’s company, My Authentic Films, and distributed by FilmOne, Ori Rebirth is the sequel to his 2004 classic Ori, which won Best Indigenous Film at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2005.
Since its release, the movie has continued to pull in crowds across cinemas in Nigeria, with many praising its cultural relevance, emotional depth, and powerful performances.
