Know your genotype before falling in love, Eucharia tells potential couples

Renowned actress, Eucharia Anunobi, has issued heartfelt advice on the importance of individuals being aware of their genotype before considering romantic relationships.

Her advice stems from personal experience, as she opened up about the profound challenges she faced while raising her son, who was diagnosed with sickle cell disease.

Eucharia recounted that the struggles associated with her son’s health deeply affected her life in multiple ways, wreaking havoc on her marriage, career, and mental well-being.

She explained that the daily challenges of managing her son’s condition created immense stress, which ultimately contributed to the disintegration of her marriage.

In 2006, her husband chose to leave, leaving her to navigate the difficult waters of single parenthood amidst the demands of caring for a child with a chronic illness.

Reflecting on her journey, Anunobi stressed the importance of compatibility not only in love but also in health.

“I got married in 2000 and had a son, Raymond. From the moment I had him, my marriage began to hit the rocks. It was one hospital visit after another, one medical expense after another. The experience halted our lives and put a strain on our love.

“My husband blamed me for our situation, and I blamed him too. I watched my son suffer. I watched my husband and I go from spouses, to friends, to people who just fought and fought about medical bills and taking care of our son.

“Finally, in 2006, our marriage ended, and I was left alone with our son. I cried a lot. It was so overwhelming that I couldn’t even pursue my acting passion any longer. Sadly, I lost my son at the age of 17,” she said.
