Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has revealed the special connection she shares with her mother, saying everything she owns also belongs to her.
Speaking in an interview with ET during the 67th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, the “Free Mind” singer made it clear that she does not hold back when it comes to her mum.
“What I have is hers [my mother’s]. We share everything I have,” she said.

Tems, who has been making waves internationally, bagged the Best African Music Performance award at the Grammys for her hit song “Love Me Jeje.” While receiving the award, she dedicated it to her mother, a woman she has often spoken about with deep admiration.
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “I’m grateful to God. I’m thankful. I think it’s a blessing. I’m extremely blessed and favoured. I just want to give that out in any way that I can.”
The singer, known for her unique voice and soulful music, has never hidden the role her mother played in her life.
She was raised by her mum alone, alongside her brother, and has always credited her for shaping the person she is today.
In 2022, her song “Free Mind” broke the female record for the longest-charting number one song on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
Tems rose to international fame with her feature on Wizkid’s “Essence,” which earned her a spot on global music charts and critical acclaim.
