Barbadian singer, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has marked 20 years in the music industry with a message of appreciation to her fans, family and industry partners.

The 36-year-old singer shared the note on X on Saturday, reflecting on her journey since she left home two decades ago to begin her career.

“Twenty years ago, I left my country, my culture, my food, and family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music. So many of you were a part of my life and career since the very beginning, and some of you have joined the adventure along the way. I’m forever grateful to all of you,” she wrote.

Rihanna, who has sold more than 250 million records worldwide, described her family as her strongest support system. She also praised her fans and appreciated DJs, producers, designers, choreographers and others who contributed to her success.

“I thank God, He’s been very generous to me and the glory belongs to Him,” she added.

The multiple award-winning singer rose to fame in 2005 with her debut single Pon de Replay.

Over the years, Rihanna has also grown into a cultural icon. Beyond music, she is recognised for her influence in fashion, philanthropy and beauty, with her work often shaping global trends and conversations.
