Omotola stated that during her long flight, only movies from Turkey, Asia, Bollywood, Hollywood, and the Middle East were shown. She expressed her frustration, saying, “Dear @turkishairlines, like many other foreign companies, you might be discriminating against African destinations and travelers, and that needs to stop.”
She further criticized the airline’s lack of respect for African paying customers, highlighting an unexplained layover in Uganda that was not included in her booking. Omotola questioned why African travelers often pay higher fares than their counterparts traveling to other parts of the world, yet they are subjected to such blatant disrespect and discrimination
Omotola’s remarks have sparked a conversation about the importance of diversity and representation in the entertainment industry, particularly in the context of international air travel.
