The Police have confirmed the arrest of popular Nigerian artist, Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable. The arrest was made after a 72 hour ultimatum issued to Portable to submit himself expired. This is after the artist declined five invitations. He was reported to have resisted police arrest at a bar on Wednesday and disrespected officers…

The Police have confirmed the arrest of popular Nigerian artist, Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable. The arrest was made after a 72 hour ultimatum issued to Portable to submit himself expired.

This is after the artist declined five invitations. He was reported to have resisted police arrest at a bar on Wednesday and disrespected officers performing their duties.

The Ogun State Police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi said the police will see that he is punished accordingly.

“The Police will not condone any unruly act, assault or attack on its officers who are on lawful duty. We need to respect our law enforcement agents who perpetually take the risk of maintaining law and order and fight crimes and criminality in our society.”

Nigerians have taken to social media to voice their reactions to the arrest.
