Rema’s R&R Album Is Afrobeats Most Streamed 2023
Afrobeat singer Rema, has achieved the title of the most streamed Afrobeats artist of 2023.
His album, Rave & Roses (Ultra)*, has surpassed a remarkable 3.84 billion streams since its release on April 28, according to Top Chart Africa.
This outstanding feat not only solidifies Rema’s position in the music industry but also places his album in the prestigious category of Gold certification in the United States.
The album now shares this distinction with Wizkid’s Made in Lagos, making them the only Afrobeats projects to attain such recognition.
Other notable contenders in the streaming arena include Kizz Daniel’s Maverick securing second place with 1.59 billion streams, Omah Lay’s Boy Alone (Deluxe) closely following with 1.38 billion streams, and Davido’s Timeless amassing 1.13 billion streams.
As the Afrobeats landscape continues to flourish, Rema’s success sets a high standard, showcasing the global appeal and dominance of Nigerian music on the international stage.
