Shanty Town director Dimeji Ajibola is dead
Nigerian filmmaker and director, Dimeji Ajibola, known for the hit series Shanty Town, is dead.
Ajibola’s departure has left a deep void, as he was known for his unique touch in blending traditional African storytelling with digital artistry.
The news first surfaced in an Instagram post by actor Bolanle Ninalowo, who poured out his grief, saying, “I love you brother and I will miss you @dimejiajibola. May God heal your family and loved ones. Till we meet again, dido vox. Rest on Champ.”
Confirming the news, Nollywood actor Samuel Olatunji shared that Ajibola passed away today.
“Dimeji Ajibola was my client and guy! So sad to hear this sad news. Rest in peace to a great guy! Sad Sunday as director of Shanty Town Passed away,” he wrote.
Ajibola’s journey was one of relentless learning and achievement. He sharpened his skills in filmmaking and cinematography at the New York Film Academy, pursued advanced character animation at Animation Mentor, and trained in visual effects at VFXLearning.
