
The Executive Director of CIG Motors, Jubril Arogundade, has been recognised as one of Africa’s top 40 under 40 leaders at the Forty Under 40 Africa Awards.
The event, which was held in Cairo, Egypt, on February 22, 2025, honoured outstanding young professionals making a significant impact in their industries.
Arogundade won in the Transport/Automobile category for his contributions to the automotive sector and efforts in driving innovation in mobility across Africa.
Speaking on the recognition, Arogundade described the award as a reflection of his team’s dedication to advancing the automotive industry.
“I am incredibly honoured to receive this prestigious award. It is a recognition of the hard work and dedication of the entire CIG Motors team and a testament to our commitment to driving innovation in the African automotive industry. We believe in the potential of Africa, and we are committed to playing a leading role in shaping the future of mobility on the continent, with a focus on sustainability and accessibility, ” he said.

Under his leadership, CIG Motors has played a pivotal role in strengthening the presence of GAC Motors in Nigeria. His marketing strategies have helped the brand grow, using culturally relevant campaigns to promote what he describes as “affordable luxury.”
Beyond marketing, Arogundade is leading CIG Motors’ push for sustainable transportation. He is overseeing the company’s plan to introduce 5,000 electric and internal combustion engine vehicles in 2025 under the LAGRIDE initiative, aimed at improving urban mobility while reducing carbon emissions.
