Edward Eshiaminah Sunday, better known by his stage name Edwuado, has steadily carved a niche for himself in Nigeria’s entertainment industry as a comedian, actor, content creator and event host.
Born on 8 January 1991 into the Obazaiki Edward family in Enwan, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, Edwuado grew up as the youngest of eleven children. His upbringing in a large household, he often says, gave him both the resilience and wit that now define his craft.
He began his formal education in Enwan, where he completed his nursery and primary schooling, before moving to Benin City to attend Evbareke Secondary School, where he obtained his WAEC certificate. He later proceeded to Auchi Polytechnic, graduating from the Department of Physics Electronics.
Edwuado’s career path has taken him from small community stages to the digital space, where his skits have found wide popularity. Known for his humour rooted in the everyday realities of Nigerian life, he has become a familiar face across social media platforms. In addition to his digital work, he has also developed a reputation as a stand-up comedian and a dynamic event host, with an ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Today, Edwuado is regarded as part of the new generation of Nigerian entertainers who are reshaping comedy and performance, blending traditional stagecraft with the immediacy of digital storytelling.
